#tb 🇬🇧London to me is elusive. It’s a beat, with an ever changing voice. A voice that sings its energetic soul and its infinite variety. It struggles to find a symbolic monument. Maybe because London embodies so many different realities. My gritty Camden and the more luxurious Mayfair,( where I wrote my last poem) the world known Notting Hill and the young and hip Shoreditch. My personal favourite monument is the Shard, that incarnates the city’s sophisticated and simple aesthetic.

The mystery can’t fit our cages. This week I just tried “fitting” a poem , that means cutting it to fit a one screen format. No matter how hard I tried I wasn’t satisfied. I felt as if I was caging something made to be free , something destined to be relieved of all limits. I stained quite a few pages of those notebooks that you see there but it felt like butchering beauty. So I decided to keep the poem intact and share a few verses with you each week starting Thursday. The poem was inspired by a London area called Mayfair. It portrays our quest for identity and the bond that ties dreams and courage. I hope you will like it.
